Those who identify and assess early help or child protection concerns and regularly folow a multi-agency approach and /or attend and report to child protection conferences and core groups and/or supervise or manage those who do

When you have completed this training you will be able to:

Carry out or contribute to thorough assessments of families where substance misuse is suspected or has been disclosed;

By being able to display awareness of the main substance types of abuse and relate this to known prevalence in Solihull borough/community

Holding awareness of the favoured substances and the potential impact upon children who misuse

Having an awareness of the impact of parental substance misuse and their potential to impede ability to safeguard children

Being aware of specialist services available to support assessment, safety planning and promote multi-disciplinary working

Please note, you must be able to attend the whole programme. Missing part of the training will mean that your partial attendance will not be counted as having completed this training and you will not receive certification. 

Applicants must have completed foundation (Agency specific, in-house) training.
